Everyone knows about Stuff White People Like by now, but how bout Stuff Orange And Green People Like?
Yeah that’s right. We at the University of Miami love our goat sucking (that’s El Chupacabra, if you’re ign’ant and don’t know) and dorky, broseph-type white qbs. Cause that’s what we’re into. We’ll fight you.
Today is just like any other April 9, except today the Internet is naked. It’s CSS Naked Day, and a lot of sites are stripping off their cascading style sheets “to promote Web Standards. Plain and simple.”
Well unfortunately (or fortunately?), I’m using WordPress, and
they’re really good about not letting you strip off your CSS. Tons of
backups built in, blah blah, and basically I can’t figure out a
workaround. So I’m not naked today, and not by choice!
If anyone knows why, for whatever reason I tried installing a WordPress plugin that’s supposed to get rid of my CSS for a day, but it’s not working.
So for today, my clothes are staying on. But I encourage everyone else to let loose and bare it all for a day!
When receiving a business phone call on your cell phone from John
Doe, is it appropriate to answer with, “Hi John, nice to hear from
you,” since you know it is John because all cell phones have caller ID?
Or should you pretend you are on a land line, completely oblivious
to who or what is on the other line, and answer with the standard,
“Hello?”
Check out this video by the BBC. In my opinion, it’s the best April Fools joke of the year by a long shot.
Now maybe I’m just really quick to believe anything said in a
British accent by the BBC, but I really though that was real for a
minute. Of course once they showed the huge flocks of penguins flying
around and threw in the bit about South America, I think they knew that
would give it away.
But wow, job well done BBC. Nice footage, and way to be subtle about it all.

If you don’t know, I’m the Visuals Editor at The Miami Hurricane, the student newspaper at the University of Miami. Every once in awhile I’ll be posting some of the work I do there for comments & feedback.
So let’s take a look at our latest cover.
For those not in South Florida, this is previewing the Ultra Music Festival
that starts Friday in Miami. It’s a big deal, with a lot of the crowd
made up of raver/hippy/etc types. So I wanted this cover to reflect
that by really popping visually, but at the same time being simple.
If you’re not watching Rocketboom you should be. I’ve been following it for a few years now, and this is by far one of the coolest things they’ve done since Amanda Congdon left the show in 2006.
My favorite Congdon-era Rocketboom video? Obviously the one where
Amanda dances across St. Petersburg, Russia. free car insurance quotes
